A Taste of Iceland 16th to 20th October 2017

16th.
Pick up Keflavík airport. Transfer to Reykjavík for 1
night at Hotel Lind B&B. A short exploratory walk
into town.

17th.
Drive to Þingvellir National Park. A walk through the
rift valley between North America and Europe.
Iceland’s original parliament building - The
AlÞing. Geysir geothermal area. Gulfoss waterfall
and short walk along the edge of the Hvítá gorge.
Onto Hotel Hella (dinner and breakfast).

18th.
Urriðafoss (waterfall). Travel inland exploring the
changing scenery and wildlife; with Hekla nearby -Iceland’s most active volcano. We shall undertake
several short walks. Hotel Hella (as above).

19th.
Visit to the Lava Centre at Hvolsvöllur. Drive to
Sólheimajökull (glacier), a tributary of the
Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, for a glacier-walk experience.
A coastal walk at Dyrhólaey. View of Eyjafjallajökull
and visit to Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls.

20th.
Journey along coast road to Krýsuvík Geothermal
Area. Visit the Blue lagoon for a refreshing dip
before heading off to the Airport for afternoon
flight to the UK.
